KodeNation (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your trust. This Privacy Policy explains how our DocumScan app (“the App”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our services.
- Third-Party Partners: We use Crashlytics, Firebase, Google Analytics, Unity LevelPlay (Mediation), Meta Audience Network, InMobi, Mintegral, AdMob, and AppLovin to improve app stability, measure engagement, and may serve ads for monetization when configured. These services may collect certain device or usage information as per their own privacy policies.
- Data Collected by Partners: These third-party services may automatically collect non-personal device information, operational logs, and unique advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / AAID) to deliver personalized or contextual advertisements, measure ad performance, and analyze app performance in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- Customer Support Emails: If you contact us at info@kodenation.com, we retain your emails indefinitely for support and record-keeping purposes.
2. What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) directly through our source code.
- We do not require login or social media authentication.
- We do not provide chat features.
- We do not outsource operations; all work is done in-house.
- We do not send user-generated content to any backend servers. The app does not require a backend server to operate and hence has no backend.
3. Interest-Based Advertising & User Opt-Out Rights
- Our advertising partners may use device identifiers to display relevant ads.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by navigating to your device settings:
On Android: Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Ads -> Delete Advertising ID or Reset Advertising ID.
4. Data Storage and Security
- User-generated content is processed locally on the device and is not transmitted to any backend servers.
- Since we do not collect PII, there is no risk of loss or theft of personal information through our app.
- Analytics: We may use Google Analytics data to measure customer engagement and improve retention strategies.
- Legal Compliance: Although we collect minimal information, we may use or disclose data if required by law.
- Third-Party Ad Services: Unity LevelPlay (Mediation), Meta Audience Network, InMobi, Mintegral, AdMob, AppLovin and other integrated services may store information on their servers according to their own policies.

The App is intended for users aged 13 years and above.

If you contact us regarding personal information-related queries, please allow up to one month for a response.
8. Permissions Used by the App
To provide core functionality, the App requires the following permissions:
- CAMERA – To scan documents.
- VIBRATE – To provide haptic feedback when certain features are activated.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – To access created PDF documents and images captured with the app or import saved images directly from your gallery.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – To create PDF documents and images captured with the app or to delete saved PDF documents or images.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – To check network connectivity for integrated services.
- BIND_QUICK_SETTINGS_TILE – To allow adding a custom tile in Quick Settings for faster access.
- Prevent Phone from Sleeping – To keep the device awake during scanning operations.
9. Data Sharing and Transfers
- We do not transfer personal information ourselves.
- Third-party services (e.g., AdMob, Firebase, Crashlytics, Google Analytics) may store or process data on their servers.
